1989 was a vintage season for the First XV at Tauranga Boys’ College. Coached by current principal Robert Mangan, the ‘89 team won the Moascar Cup, achieved a record win against a formidable rival and produced a series of class players, one of whom went onto become an All Black.
Max Heimann is a name well known in Bay of Plenty rugby circles.
