In 2005 the King’s College First XV powered into the final of the 1A Auckland competition unbeaten. However thoughts of a first 1A championship in 37 years were a distant thought when King’s trailed perennial powerhouse Kelston Boys’ High School, 9-28 after 50 minutes of the decider.
